Can You Be Trusted?

Dear Brothers and Sisters in the faith,

I write this to remind you of how much purpose you have in Christ. Yes you! I know some of us struggle to believe this, so stop, right where you are and breathe in and out. With each breath, I want you to remember, if God has given you breath, YOU HAVE PURPOSE. Purpose for what? I am sure this is a question we all have asked at some point in our walk with God; I know I have.

When I was a new believer, I use to ask God all the time what was my purpose. My heart found great joy in reading scriptures like Proverbs 3:5-6, 1 Corinthians 2:9-10, Ephesians 2:10. These scriptures let me know that God will direct my path, if I trusted and acknowledged Him. That if I loved Him, I could not even fathom the plans and purpose He had for me. That a good work was already planned for me. Journal: Reflect on your purpose.

Let’s reference Acts 9:10, this is just to review the closeness of Ananias and God’s relationship. As you look at this verse, do you see the closeness in Ananias and God’s relationship? I do and it is so beautiful! As we witness their relationship, we see Ananias being called a disciple (Christ’s follower). We see the Lord calls him and we see him respond.

What a blessing to have such a close relationship with God!!! If you want to know your purpose, it is revealed though a close relationship with God. Pray: Talk to God about your relationship with Him.

Acts 9:11-12. In these scriptures, we see a Father that knows His son. He knew Ananias would be obedient and follow His instructions. Paul was already praying and saw Ananias in a vision. Moreover, Paul’s vision occurred while the Lord was giving Ananias direction. He didn’t need to wait for Ananias to respond. He knew Ananias would respond in obedience. God’s love language is obedience (John 14:5). Take time and think about that.

What are the implications of God given purpose if the Lord knew He could depend on you to respond to the things He tells you to do? Acknowledge: How can you recognize the Holy Spirit daily as the Source to help you carry out God’s will in your life.

On this day may we all walk in confidence knowing that we all have purpose that is revealed through a close relationship with Christ. Like our brother Ananias, may God find us responding to His love in obedience.
