4.      What are some issues that may hinder us in coming after Christ?

The First Requirement for Confident Prayer is Remaining

  1. Are there some things that may seem out of reach for you that you wish you had?
  2. How does Remaining in God give us what we wish for? 
  3. How Close do you FEEL to God?

The Second Requirement for confident prayer is His Word

  1. Pastor Jason explains, that When we get into the word of God, reading the word and receiving it, that’s when we start to see a difference in our lives. In what ways can we overcome the challenges of being distracted or simply not choosing to seek God’s Word?

The Third Requirement for confident prayer is Asking

    1. Sometimes we work very hard to get what we want. There are times that we are too proud to ask someone else for what we want. What perspective does this give you, knowing that you may not have what you want because you haven’t asked for it? 
  2. There are so many reasons why a person might shy away from praying. If this is a struggle for some, how can we build our confidence to pray more?
  3. Matt 7:7-8 What might close people off from asking God for what they want? 
  4. Matt 7:11 Understanding that God desires us to continuously seek and ask him, how does this affect and/ or change our behavior towards God?

    1. Bearing fruit means to reproduce, our life and testimony should be producing more Christians
    2. On a scale of 1-10 how important is it for you to bear fruit.

    1. Proof of true discipleship is fruit.  Our purpose as a disciple is to bear fruit. 
    2. How can you work to have this be your mission.  How can you work with your church to improve this mission

    1. Souls are the offering that we ought to bring to give Glory to God
    2. Proverbs 11:30 (NIV84)
      30 The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life,
      and he who wins souls is wise.

       

    3. When we tell of the Goodness of Jesus, our testimony has the ability to win souls!
